Bowl Bound Solitaire Game
Free Download
Click here to download a zip file with
everything you need to play. This includes files for teams from 1966, 1973, 1977,
1983 & 1991-2007. You will need to unzip these files into their own
directory. I strongly recommend that if you’ve already downloaded an earlier version
of my solitaire game, that you install this game in a different directory.
This game allows for
solitaire play like previous version, but also has these enhancements:
·
Season play mode
with stat compiler
·
Play an
individual game only, just like before
·
Save a game in
progress and finish it later
·
New improved CPU
coaching engine
·
CPU Quickplay option allows you to recreate an entire season or
play a large tournament, and only play the games you want to play and allow the
CPU to quickplay the other games. The CPU can quickplay a game with full
stats in less than 5 seconds.
·
Play games with
board and dice, or another CPU version of the game and enter the stats into the
stat compiler and let it keep the stats for your league.
·
Good box score
and statistic report capabilities
·
CPU can generate
a single elimination tournament. All you need to do is enter any number of
teams (even an odd number) and tell the CPU which teams you want to play games
for and then it will generate the matchups based on seedings, including giving higher ranked teams a bye in the
first round.
·
CPU can generate
a round-robin schedule. All you need to do is enter any number of teams (even
an odd number) and tell the CPU which teams you want to personally play games
for (i.e. don’t quickplay games for certain teams)
and then it will generate the schedule, including bye weeks if an odd number of
teams was entered.

BASIC INSTRUCTIONS FOR GAME
Once you have unzipped all
the files into a directory, click on the play.bat
file to start the game. The game will open in a DOS window.
The main menu has the following
5 options:
1. Play solitaire game
This is the standard
solitaire game. It will roll dice, keep track of game stats, field possession,
etc. and also the CPU will call plays based on down, distance, strength and
weakness of your team, as well as the CPU’s team and also game situation.
2. Play quick play game (continue existing season or
create new season)
This allows you to enter a
list of teams for a round-robin schedule/season or enter teams for a single
elimination tournament. For example, if you purchased the 2006 SEC conference
set and you want to personally play all games for only LSU and lead them to the
title, here’s what you could do:
·
Select whether
you want to play a round-robin schedule or a single elimination tournament
·
Enter the 12 SEC
teams from 2006
·
Select to
personally play games only with LSU
That’s it! The CPU will
generate the schedule and prompt you when it’s time to play the next LSU game.
Once it’s time, either select option 1 from the main menu, or play the board
game using dice and then you can enter the stats from the board game using option
3 on the menu.
3. Enter stats from a game played using another Bowl
Bound game for the next game on the schedule
Select this if you wanted to
run a season scenario listed above in menu option 2, but didn’t want to use my
solitaire game. You could still play the good ole dice version, and enter the
stats under this option and have the CPU play the remaining games on the schedule.
Before selecting this option, please make sure you create the schedule first
using option 2 on the menu.
4. Create current standings and stat report
Allows you to run a stats
report at any paused time during the season. This is useful to view standings,
remaining schedule and season stats up to the current game. Before selecting
this option, please make sure you create the schedule first using option 2 on
the menu.
5. Quit this program
Select when you are finished
playing the game.
In order to play the
solitaire game, you have to have my charts, since the game doesn’t do chart
lookups for you. However, you don’t need to own my charts to use the quickplay feature in the game.
